Dang no one else going to Aventura FL?
I'll be calling later this afternoon to see if they have any stock left, and if they do, I'll be stopping by around 6 ish p.m.
Too bad I had to work today and couldn't take the day off - my manager has it off! :(
In the meantime, iWait.

Time and Location to be determined, but it will be close to Moscone.

Thanks

I'm thinking the car broke down. It is no easy feat to get a car onto a flatbed without the key.

Thank you for taking steps to have this add removed. No complaints about Macrumors other than this is the most annoying internet ad I've ever seen.

I have a weebee and i have a few problems with it.
#1 don't like how loud the velcro is.
#2 when there's no laptop in the bag, it's really uncomfortable to wear. has to have adequate weight in it to be comfortab.e
#3 There's something about the little handle on the bag that makes it awkward to carry that way.
It's really expensive but that's pretty much with any laptop bag that you buy (well except for the really ugly targus ones)

I have a 750GB hard drive on my macbook pro (my only computer) with only 50GB remaining free. I have every photo on here, along with most of my HD video that I take with my camcorder. With just those two things alone, I have 200GB of photos and 350GB of video sitting on my laptop. I used to have an online backup (JungleDisk) that I was going to use for archiving my photos, but it wound up costing over $100/month for this because I have so many files. So now I'm looking for a new/better backup and archive solution.
My first option was to get an external drive, but in my past, I've had too many of those fail. So I'm nervous about archiving things there. If I did that, I'd want an external for archiving, a backup of my archive, and then another backup of my laptop. So that's THREE externals.
Anyone else have a better solution? All of the online file storage sites seem to be sync only... meaning if I delete the file from my computer, it's gone online, too. I can't find someone who also does archiving, and has a "reasonable" price for online storage/archiving for that much data.
I also upload all my photos to Flickr, but that's just the modified JPG's... I'd like to still hang on to all my RAW files!
What does everyone else do? I can't imagine how long it would take me to burn all these files onto DVD... and then what if the DVD gets scratched??

Also, up until a few years ago the portables were limited to 4GB of RAM, so weren't as future proof. But my 3 year old Mac Pro doesn't have that limit, and I'm running 14GB on it. If iMacs or MBPs of the time could have supported more RAM, I would have gone that route instead.

I've stopped using my Kodak Zi8 camera. It's much more convenient to carry just a phone than to carry a phone and a camera.

I wonder if they are going to start selling junk. As someone who posts there, I notice that there seem to be lots of teens on the site that seems to be the type that like (and can afford) to buy things w/logos on them. Offering "Spymac" branded stuff (at outrageous prices, I'm sure) probably wouldn't be a half bad idea...

I've got the IceKey and like it. Much better than the "standard" Apple keyboard. The action is very "crisp". It's a bit like the keyboard of a Powerbook. I'd go with it. As I recall it wasn't that expensive either. Cheers

Windows is a typical masturbation operating system that constantly tries to satisfy itself (herself/himself?).
Windows 7 has many background processes that do things, consume CPU cycles and therefore nibble battery capacity.
OS X like most UN*X operating systems is behaving more orderly here.

For me, the ideal would be to have both. I often reference documentation while coding, and having a searchable version on a second monitor is unmatched for efficiency. I couldn't imagine programming in Cocoa without it. But if I am reading a tutorial and following along, I have a very hard time doing that without a physical book.
I have only a couple books (not programming books) that I have bought for the iPad, and find them absolutely impossible to read as well, so it might just be me. For me a physical book is mandatory in some instances. I can't for sure say why though, as the ebook seems better.

It's like the publisher said to a low level writer: "Why don't we have any articles about Apple?" and the low level writer said: "I'll do one up in 30 minutes."
