Hi randlesl, welcome to Dphoto! In addition to the above, some cameras are just calibrated to underexpose. My D60 did that consistently. I think I shot everything at +2/3 exposure comp. Some lenses may contribute to that as well. To test that, try taking a shot outdoors in good light using the same target with both lens set to 70mm and f/5.6. If they come out looking alike, all is well. If the 28-80 comes out darker, experiment to see how much extra you need to dial in with that lens to get it looking like the other. Also try a few shots with the 28-80 lens on a tripod, or other sturdy rest. If the images come out sharp, then the blur is like what I get ... operator error. If they are still blurry, then the problem may be with that lens. From what you said, though, and as jliechty suggested, it may be from trying to follow moving targets in low light with a shutter speed that can't freeze the action.

Hi,
Quick question here. Suppose the h1 receipt was not attached and the application was already sent by july2. Can we send in a copy of H1 extension receipt now ?
My h1b visa expired in april 2007 and extension was filed in feb 2007. I94 also expired in april 2007. I am thinking as long as u apply aos application within 180 days of being out of status for any reason we are in status.
Correct me if im wrong and add any info that you may feel is relevant..

A consulting company that i had approached in early 2007 had filed my
H1B on April 1st '07 for which i only have a receipt # as yet. This H1 is obviosuly under the CAP. USCIS decision reg. H1 approval is still pending.
I was eligible to file for AOS / EAD thru my husbands GC petition and now do not want to take any job on the H1B with the consulting company. I have a offer from another company....i can join then when i get my EAD. They are willing to wait till i get my EAD.
Some concerns i need help with -
1)How does the contracting company withdraw or VOID my H1. ?
2) Do we have to wait for 797 approval to void it.? Or can they VOID it using only the RECEIPT # ?
3) If H1B is approved in the next few weeks then does the petitioner have to void it before the start of fiscal year - October 1st 2007.?
5) Does a attorney need to be involved to withdraw this case ? What is the exact process of nullifying this H1B.? Are there any specific forms to be filled out.???
6) What kind of documentation would i need from the petitioner who is withdrawing my H1B...Like what evidence do i need to get from petitioner that he / she has actually withdrawn this.??
Also are there any DOL or USCIS rules which state that - the employer has to provide me with copies of the LCA, I-129 petition, Letter that he writes for voiding the H1B. I should be entitled to recieve copies from the employer right..?? allthough i will not work for them..! Can somebody direct me to a link on DOL or USCIS which tells me that the employer should give me all these copies.

You are supposed to get LCA from your employer.If you don't get it you can complain to DOL using Wh4 form(http://www.dol.gov/esa/forms/whd/WH-4.pdf I heard some form is available to cancel the pending H1 , but not sure.

AFAIK, This only applies in cases where the visa that is being sought is not a dual intent visa.
US consulates in India don't follow a logic. They dont like someone applying for a non immigrant visa once 485 is filed and pending.

The indian consulate needs a proof of address for me and my wife
We sent them the Property tax bill and hoped that it would work but get this mail from travisa

The proof of address received in your application is not acceptable for submission to the Indian Consulate. You must submit a proof of residence/address that matches the present address on the PIO application exactly. Photocopy of state issued ID (Driver License or ID), or major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage) or a copy of a lease containing both the landlord and tenant signatures must be submitted. Now why does not a property tax not work ? it is issues by the county.
We do not have the current address on my wife's driver's license and her name is not there on the PGandE bill

I was watching an interview with John McCain on larry king live 2 or 3 days ago. Mccain said that an immigration bill would be introduced in the senate in a week or two which would focus on border security first, i am not sure what that means, focusiing on border security first, good or bad for us? would that mean our provisions will be moved to a later stage where border security is ratified first before anything can happen etc etc which is what anti-immigrants want.

As a quadruple renewer, let me share with you that the date on the EAD is from the point at which it is approved. You lose some time each year. Between myself and my wife we have had 8 and it has been the same each time.

Folks,
How are the taxi charges from Chennia airport to the town or station ? Do the drivers charge whatever they feel like or is it controlled?
My parents are leaving back from the US and will be landing in Chennai, they are not from Chennai....so not sure if I should try to book a taxi before hand...or the charges are controlled ? Also, do they have something like pre-paid taxi ?
The flight (emirates) lands at 3 or 4 am.
Also, any recomendations for Hotels ? Ideally near the railway station.

You should book the hotel on Yatra.com or Makemytrip.com. I have used them in the past, and if you book 3 star or more, then you get pretty decent hotels.

Yes Sir...I am in the same situation...My Checks cleared on Oct 10, 2007 and I got my receipts on 10/16...Those receipts starting with SRC0800XXXXXX are not available online upto 10/22. But when I check status online on 10/22 afternoon...My and My Spouse EADs are approved and Cards Ordered. But rest of the Receipts still not available online.

Obama did say that there might not be an appetite for it currently.......... However, making the bill a delicacy might bring back the appetite :D just kidding.....
Seriously, if other states follow Arizona, it becomes a pressing issue and whether Obama or Congress has the appetite or not, they have to learn to deal with it. Can't let the Arizona law go viral.
One of the biggest complaint that AZ is making is that the federal government is not addressing the border problem.........well, the federal govt has to wake up and start addressing immigration reform on the whole .......... as so many sections of the immigration system is broken.
In conclusion, the mood and environment sets the stage. We have one. Got to take advantage of it.

Please consult a lawyer - She is now AOS and should not go back to H4 as that can mean she is abandoning her AOS which I am sure you dont want. I would not even recommend getting H4 stamped in her passport. ( same reason). I am in the same boat and my wife is using EAD - My lawyer did not process her H4 extension and only processed my H1 extension.
Again - please consult a lawyer

There is no law/rule that even remotely suggests that getting an H visa means abandoning the AOS. My 485 was denied and had to get H1/H4 for me/my wife. Now we again have AOS, but i still have H1 and plan to enter on H1 if have to re-enter US after a trip abroad. There are hundreds of folks on this forum who extend/stamped their H1/H4 even when they had AOS.
