I got the 3.1 update yesterday, and I was getting push notifications with badges and alerts but not sound or vibration. I am positive that my silent/ringer switch was set to allow sound.
This morning I got the new 3.1.1 update. Immediately, I noticed that I started getting sound alerts and vibration in addition to the badges and alerts. Yay!

Actually they are concerned that their mac share is growing and they were not ready for it. Within their creative apps macs are over 50% and growing.

scem, I think in due time the price of Apple's hardware will come down. Take a look at the prices of the Macintosh/Apple product line. The Macintosh II was valued at I think over $6000. The G4/G3 motherboard was worth up to $3500 I think. Now, the Dual 1.25GHz model sells for around $3300, if you don't feel like chugging in THAT much RAM.
My guess is that in a couple of years Apple's PowerMacs will be reduced to near equivalent prices as when the first dual GHz PowerMacs came out, topping out at $3000.

Cut defense, raise taxes on the rich, and close corporate tax loopholes. Deficit solved without cutting any social services. In fact, the little "balance the budget" exercise I posted a few weeks ago proved we could add a surplus while still increasing money for social services, green energy and veterans benefits. All with a progressive tax increase on the top 10%.

No one bitches about the ATT data plan, they just hate the dropped calls on every single call they make and I understand that people are angry about that.
But the iPad is not a phone and I'm certain most people buy Verizon iPads thinking that its better just because there are problems with ATT iPhone.
In the end you get half the 3G speed on Verizon and also won't be able to use the network in most parts of the world.
I wouldn't trade ATT for Verizon in terms of iPads.

Since it seems pretty likely that we will be a government shutdown 2011 might as well start a thread about it.

it seems pretty clear the Tea Partiers do not want to compromise at all. They not only want 33-50bill in cuts but they want to choose were they come from.
I was listening to the new last night and instead of logical choices in cuts they wanted to go after education, Medicare and things that help the core.

looks like to me the Tea partiers are showing their true colors when that is what they really want.

this has nothing to do with iPads i suppose but a co-worker and I at lunch yesterday had our iPhones out (me ATT & Co-worker VZW) he could not get any bars and therefore his apps were useless for 3G (we were trying a GPS Map) and I got on and got teh voice commands within 30 seconds. I had 4 bars, he had none. He said his Verizon iPhone was about useless for any service. he had ATT before but the company has a Verizon plan and his phone is company paid...
