And honestly, there is such thing called inflation which sadly is happening a lot here. They're costs are going up so it's going to reflect in their prices. I expect this is the first application and I bet they will release a calandar application when Leopard is released next year. It seems that .Mac will get the old versions of iLife. If you look at the other .Mac offerings that will have to be updated it isn't much of a stretch to see them integrate the iWeb and iWork suite. This is obviously Apple's answer to Google G-whatever and Microsoft's Live service.
If .Mac offered a full suite of applications at some point, is it beyond the realm of possibility that Apple could sell a low cost terminal computer? Or maybe a future touch screen iPod that syncs up with .Mac service? Or even better, an iPod with a HDMI out dock that can plug into a monitor or HDTV, and with .Mac it's basically a glorified terminal computer. That would be so cool. :cool:

The White IP4 will look sick, much like how awesome the white iPad 2 looks. I think the demand will still be strong for it due to all of the September IP5 rumors, and the fact that I know tons of people that have broken old iPhone are are waiting for the white to release. I would not expect crazy demand for it, but sales should be very good.

I have .Mac, but I probably won't be using this feature, disregarding some rare exceptions.
The reason: I prefer using the old Apple paradigm of "one application - one task". Yeah, I know, I like my habits from the outdated old century. I've never completely felt comfortable with web applications, since they don't have keyboard shortcuts that are analogous to the rest of the system. But with more and more applications moving to the web, I admit that I'm fighting a losing battle.
Yes, I'm aware that gmail and .mac have well-functioning autosave features, but that doesn't comfort me well when I try to move to the beginning of a line using command-leftarrow and end up wasting my concentration on the whole "gah! my document disappeared!"-idea. And I haven't even begun talking about command-Q�
Visionaries have been talking about the browser replacing the OS as our main UI for many years, but I still don't think the conventions are mature enough for [me, at least] to do my serious tasks in browsers - yet.

The Golf is going to remain the European version as far as I've heard. The Jetta is no longer the 'Golf with a trunk', but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's getting it's own identity, even if it's a little dull for the time being. The new Passat basically looks like a larger Jetta.
I've had my Golf TDI for 10 years (bought new in 2/2001), and it's been a wonderful car for 215K miles. This last tank I got 47mpg. I would definitely buy another one.
