Hello,
I too have the same problem, have sent the documents for filing I-485, mostly it will be filed before 17th Aug 2007. My passport is expiring on Dec 2007. I had sent it for renewal.
Will that be ok to file I-485 with old passport which would be expiring in Dec 2007?

Reason syill not known and waiting for the denial notice..

What exactly does it mean when you say "Use the EAD"? My H1 is valid for next 3 yrs and i dont want to use the EAD (hopefully I'll get it), how do I make sure I dont use the EAD. Does it cause confusion in port of entry when you have both a vlid H1 stamping and EAd and AP?

At the time of your entry, if your I 485 is approved, then use your EAD t enter into US. Otherwise, just use your valid H1B visa to enter US.

hahaha! lost this was by accident too! see i had to do an interview for a school so i was all dressed up, so i posed like a weather man for a pic....so i went to Weather.com and got a local map that i was going to use to put behind me. well the extract tool didnt do exactly what i wanted cause i had never used it, so i did it like a quick mask. so in the end of the filter it ended up making it like all 'rough' on the edges. so i brought the map in....scaled it to size on the screen (i sized it to the whole screen. oh by the way, after i imported the pic onto the new doc.,i difference clouded it).so after all that i put difference clouds on the map too. i changed the layer blend to color blend and vola. it looks cool w/burn too. i have been playing around ALOT w/it. i think it is a big step for me! :beam:

Did any of you knew the Green card problems when you came?
Did you know the problems when you applied for greencard many years ago?
When was the first time you found out there was a ling wait period and so many problems?

I am a July 2 filer. I got 485 receipt notice from California Service Center with receipt date of july 2. Today, in mail, I got another notice called transfer notice, which states that my case has been transferred to Nebraska. The receipt date on the transfer notice is Sep 5. Is it nromal to have such diferent receipt dates? Will USCIS process by receipt date on receipt notice or on transfer notice?

This is how they could have replied. They should have started a 10 Rs. Education cess on every McDonald burger sold and every Pepsi/Coke bottle sold and every pizza sold by pizza hut & Dominos. This is barely anything, as it is only what we see on the surface, other big corporation like Walmart and several defense contractors are also operating freely and feeling home. Indian govt. should start taxing them..

When it comes to shaking down foreign companies, the Indian govt. is way ahead of the US govt. The Indian govt is suing Vodafone for acquiring Orange and Kraft for acquiring Cadbury insisting that these companies should have done a tax deduction at source when buying these companies. Meaning that if Kraft bought Cadbury for $100mill, they should have paid only $70 mill and sent the $30 mill check to the govt.
Look it up, and you'll realize that any government in the world will shake anyone down for some extra money, not because it's right but BECAUSE THEY CAN!!!

If your PD is in May'06 or early Jun'06, I think paying a visit to USCIS center won't hurt. Checking online status is a waste of time. At least you'll know what's going on with it. The IO I went to was very nice lady and gave me all the details. I thought that there would a line of GC aspirants like me :) waiting in USCIS center (in bay area) but to my surprise it was empty! Hope this helps

I am based out of NJ and was working for an imports company for more than 8 years. I have an approved I-140 with this company. This company wanted me to sign an overly broad non compete agreement which would be valid for 5 years after termination. I refused to sign this agreement and I was verbally threatened with dire consequences if I did not sign. They fired me yesterday for not signing it and also stated that they are canceling my H1. Would this be treated as wrongful termination? Is there any way that I can file a complaint with the DOL? Has the complaint to be filed thru an attorney or can I do it myself?
Good news is another company has already applied for my H1 transfer.
I will appreciate all suggestions and advices for which I thank you in advance.

Actually, IIRC, in 2001/2002, DOL denied a lot of RIR LCs from big corps. There was the infamous Zeigler memo that affected Texs DOL region the worst. Lucky for west cost I think Cal DOL did not take that into account. Not sure about other parts of country.

Hello - I just recd. the TRANSFER NOTICE for me & my wife's 485 case stating that the case has been transferred to USCIS-NBC, PO Box 648005, Lee's Summit, MO 64064. We had filed for AOS in July 2007 and my priority date for is April 2006 (EB-2).
I would appreciate it if somebody can please shed some light on what this means for us. What are the implications for us.? Will the case be transferred to the local office.? Should i start to gather documents for a interview.
Would appreciate any advice i can get. Thank you!

I received email from USCIS this morning for my wife I-485 i.e Card Ordered for Production. I am the Primary applicant, but i am still waiting for my turn. My PD is Sep 2004 & EB2.
We booked our tickets to India before we received this email. I am travelling in 3rd week of Sep. We both have new AP's. So is i have to wait here in USA to receive the Card or can i proceed with my actual plan?. Can anybody share their expertise?.
