The worst thing about the picture is the amount of noise it has and the fringing by the flowers. UGH!

I just want to say how much I both love and hate Macrumors. :)
Sent from my shiny new iPad just purchased from Verizon.
:) That is what my friend said about me. I turned him on to this deal and he bought one.

PLEASE... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... don't talk if you don't know what you are saying. I'm not perfect... but I can absolutely, ABSOLUTELY guarantee ... GUARANTEE YOU... that you CAN indeed boot XP from the new Macs WITHOUT BOOTCAMP WHATSOEVER.
That is how I have my iMac (24") setup...
The FIRST thing I did when I took her out of the box was insert the WINXP SP2 CD... (nothing slipstreamed)... and hold down the "c" key...
Voila! Booting into XP Setup... COMPLETELY FORMATTED THE ENTIRE 500GB DRIVE with XP... and she runs great.
I then attached an EXTERNAL FW800 RAID 0 Setup (1TB now)... and boot OS X off that external slice...
So... JUST SO YOU KNOW! Please try not to confuse the rest of the class Billy, uhmKay? ;)
whatever your smokin, do you think i can get some...

I read somewhere that for most users their local ISP's DNS servers are faster than some of the other options out there like Google's.
I did some tests and it was definately true for me. I'm sure it's not true for everyone, but it's worth testing instead of blindly just changing.
But most have nothing set up. I'm not exactly sure what that does, I think adds an extra step in querying the ISP. That always slows me down.
And, of course, the other half can be an issue, too. People never talk about that except when they want to download a brand new firmware or something. I see "waiting for xyz.com" plenty.

Hate to say it but the website sure makes the company and product to be a bunch of BS... they make a lot of claims with little to back them up.
They may have a real and useful product but... man they could present it in a much better way.

The 3G graph just shows how ignorant people are when choosing between ATT and Verizon.
ATT has the fastest 3G network
ATT has GSM, the standard chipset around the globe
Dropped calls and data plan are not the same thing
All this equals that people are ignorant
I bought a Verizon iPad because I have an AT&T iPhone. I figured that if one doesn't work, the other will. I saw no need to get two devices on the same network.
But go ahead, explain to me why that's stupid, since I clearly don't get it and I'm ignorant.

You get a nice, out of the box experiance with OS X.2, but is it worth it for the higher price and slower performance. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Again, you are living in the past. Macs are now fast and a very good deal. Premiere is not a pro video app and is not optimized for the Mac, Imovie(a free app) and Final cut render much faster. I still have premiere but is very slow on the Mac and I won't upgrade. You can do audio and video on any computer but when you do it to make your living you have to look at the whole picture and that means looking at everything pcs included, and right now the Mac is a better deal overall.

Why can't the A4 display the 9 screenshots, as per the video, it's hardly taxing?
I don't think anyone doubts the machine can do the expose effect (the iPad 1 does it in Safari just fine).
There are plenty of reasons it might have been turned down for their final switcher implementation. One, the final iOS allows a variable number of programs to remain open depending on their memory requirements. The expose implementation implies that 9 can be open. That's inconsistent UI. Two, as others have mentioned, you can't always tell the difference between apps at a glance from little screenshots. So they went with icons in the end.

I think sometimes people can be intimidated by all the choices. The trick, when learning, is simplify things, imo. [snip]
Do this over and over again, with different subjects, until you get a feel for DoF.
You know that is an excellent suggestion and I am going to do exactly that. Brilliant!
Thank you very much.

Hi !!!
I am about to order an ibook. I am running a bit against time because i would like to have the computer as soon as possible for a short course i
want to take.
When they say it is shipping within 3-5 days, is it more like three days, or more like five days - I am doing one or two minor upgrades on the original 12" ibook computer. One, with the keyboard from English to Western Spanish; and perhaps upgrade the HD to 60 GB. Ill also be using the 2-day option for shipping.
How long do you think it is more likely to take for the computer to be delivered?
Thank you,
ignacio "in a rush" molina.

As far as Nikon goes: The reason was the F- Mount.. High speed crop is a byproduct. the D700 does not have it and some other don't either but they all MOUNT DX lenses in crop mode AND full frame mode.
The term high speed crop was specific to the D2X. If you reduced the capture area to around 5Mpx, the frame rate increased from 4-5 FPS to 8 FPS. All of the Nikon FX bodies have a setting on the Image Setting menu called Image Area that governs whether the body automatically crops an image if it detects that a DX lens is mounted to the camera.
The only DX lens I had was the 17-55 and I sold it a few years ago when I replaced it with the 14-24 and 24-70.

iLife integration-now that's a smart idea:attracts pro users to use iLife. And I like how you can work with the Aperture library through iLife now, and the new metadata options.
