Can an H-4 visa holder living in the US work for an Indian employer via Internet? Can he use this experience while transferring to H-1B?
To acquire an H-1B visa, all work experience must be live work experience. Work over the Internet is not considered live experience as defined by the H-1B application process.
In addition, it is against immigration rules to work in any form or manner on an H-4 visa. The immigration rules clearly state that H-4 holders can only do voluntary work.

We got a new SSN for my wife after we got her EAD in the mail. They did not ask for the birth certificate. They only needed a valid id (such as passport/ driving license) + the EAD card + completed application form. We got the SSN card in less than 10 days, but I think this depends on where you are. If it helps, we were told 10 days, and we actually got it in 10 days.

1. Depends on the IO. Most of them take you for the interview together unless the legitamacy of your marriage is in question which will not likely be the case for employment based GC unless the marriage was close to the visa bulletin date or similar.
2. You can take any attorney you want to however it is not needed if your case is straight forward. If you have out of stay period , gap in employment and criminal issue, an attorney can just advise you in case the IO asks something that is against the law or you answering the question might prove to have bad consequences. The attorney cannot answer any of the questions asked. Take all documents and not just the ones mentioned in the interview. It would help you for any out of the way questions.

I'm going to ask my employer/lawyer for the receipt as I have to go out of country in the second week of October. But you never know, these guys don't care about your life.. They might still not give it to you... (Yeah, everyone knows I-485 is OUR application and they do not have a legal right to hold our receipt notices, but we are at their mercy for atleast 180 days)

Folks,
I am in a similar situation..
I work for Company A on H1b which is valid till 2009 & expired Visa stamp, but I have filed a GC application thru company B and got EAD and Parole.
So if I leave the country, can I re-enter on company B's parole and still continue to work on Company A's H1b?

I guess everybody know by now that ICE arrested 11 H1 workers(Yes , it is 11 H1 employees) mainly due to mail fraud/wire fraud, and these frauds are resulted due to the fact that these H1 employees are not working at LCA mentioned location.
Are these folks Employees or the Employers...??? I guess they are the employers..!!! but sure this is going to fall on EMPLOYEES too soon..!!! So, Make sure you have proper paper work from your employer, if not fight for the right paper work..!!!

I agree with you. On that thread people are complaining that they should not have to register to vote. How do you expect them to spend time taking out their credit card, entering the 16 digits using keyboard and hit the submit button really hard.

DOL (Department of Labor) will give ur company a tracking/receipt number. ask ur company to check the status of the case using that number from DOL website.

what address should i mail my I-131?. I did not file with my I485 application.there is a chicago address on form I131.should i mail it there?.
