After all of the comments about how great Aperture ran, and considering how crappy it was running on mine, I decided to take into the Apple Store.
The video card is defective and they are replacing it. No wonder my experience with the program stunk.

Satisfying?, well that's pretty much impossible if you ask me. People have their own standards, some are satisfied with you understanding the basic language, some others just want to read perfect code or hear perfect English and can't tolerate a miss step.
I say show what you got (even it's a poor language) and follow your needs because you can never satisfy people expectations. Soon or later, you'll talk as good or better than them. It's only matter of will, time and patience.
I know they are all trying to help, but there are ways to tell people what they lack, and those ways are what make all the difference.
You can point out an error and give solution (sorry, "find solutions") or you can tell that person to quit what he's doing because he has no idea. It's a lot easier to say, go read Apples documentation than to point out an error and explain it yourself.

Agreed. The first time I was ROFLing. When they kept doing it though...idk. I think its fine during the live presentations, but just once. I'm glad they admitted it though, that makes it a lot better.

It's certainly possible that the next version of iLife that will ship with Lion-based Macs will be ad supported and provide a link to MAS to get rid of the ads, but we aren't there yet. ;)

Well I guess what I am saying is that the graphics card really doesn't have the muscle that, say, four processor cores do. You should see what my activity monitor does when I crush some havy stuff - it might use two cores if I am lucky.
And what I'm saying is that once you step down from a $4000 machine you see a much larger power ratio in the graphics card/processor image crunching.
Take my set up, I'm betting that using my graphics card benafits me greatly.
In your case though it would be awesome to hand more of that off to the extra procs.

Resizing only means having to rewrite apps if the screen resolution changes -- especially if it changes by something other than a whole-number multiple (e.g. 1.5x versus 2x). All rumors indicate a 3.7-inch screen iPhone would have the same Retina-Display resolution (still maintaining over 300dpi).
Technically their "Retina-Display" stuff is based also on typical viewing distance as well -- so a "Retina Display" iPad, iMac, or MacBook (assuming those are in the works) may not go as high as 300dpi. However, a Retina-Display iPad would like require the same pixel-doubling (2x) that was done for apps not optimized for the Retina Display until updates came that included higher-resolution graphics.
Well, in that case, I'd be for it. It won't make me jealous of the 5 (I have a 4 and my contract doesn't run out til next year so no plans on a new phone til then), but I certainly wouldn't be complaining (where as I might if they made the phone bigger or messed up the form in some way to make it less usable or really ugly).
It will be a nice extra when I get my "6" next year (that better have bigger storage by then, that and a faster processor is really all I really want/require out of my next iphone. Not that I would complain about extras other than those two things long as they didn't ruin the phone for what I like it for).

When I was in college years ago I use to work at Circuit City, Black Friday, or any major launch of a product the registers were always a mess or came up short. If you were not very smart or had terrible sales skills they placed you as a cashier, if they could pinpoint it the person usually got chilled out by the manager. Hate to say it but good service is gone, and Best Buy has become one of the last of the big box stores, with a majority of not so knowledgeable staff, and ripping people off with there crappy warranties and overpriced products. It's always a last resort in my book if you absolutely must have something that minute and it's your only option.

You know it's wrong.
I was once in your position. I returned an item and the woman returned $100 more than what she owed me. I went to the car, thought about it for a minute, went back in, and gave the money back. She thanked me, and said if I hadn't done that, it would have come out of her paycheck, and she couldn't have afforded that.
You never know the situation of the person you're screwing over with your greed. I hope for his sake he doesn't have any dependents or isn't trying to pay his way through school or perhaps pay for drug rehab to stop from being a "stoner."

It makes sense, however, just to be devil's advocate, I think the pricepoint issue is very valid to some people, and no matter how easy it is to take a widescreen ipod on the plane, they might not think its worthwhile if they can only watch one movie between charges, and the movies (on a smaller screen) might not be worth 10-15 bucks.

If I remember correctly, PDF became an open standard a few years ago. I think it was late-ish in so maybe it was just too late in the development of Windows 7 to get it in, but now it will appear in 8.

I think this is fantastic news and can't wait to try Aperture 1.5. The only thing I don't like about Capture One is the lack of integration with iLife.

Yeah, the TSA is pretty absurd. The airport I use just got body scanners-- now when I fly I make sure to shake my junk around for the world to see.
