I had a similar problem with Lion DP1. I erased the HD with Apples Disk Utility and reinstalled Lion DP1. However, the safe boot works usually in the final versions of Mac OS X.

Normally I would agree, but since this is a used system, I think he's better off wiping and reinstalling the OS.

Yeah, that really sucks. If it was me, and I couldn't afford the clean up or a lawyer to sue, I would just walk away from the house and let the bank foreclose.

I was experiencing the same message ("None of the items in this playlist can be burned to disc", even while trying to burn a regular audio CD.
The message appeared when I had the playlist selected on the left, then pressed burn.
I tried checking all the check boxes next to the songs in the list. This allowed me burn the disc.
It seems like a bug -- why wouldn't itunes just alert me that "no items were selected to burn"?

You had to physically remove the lens cap before shooting but I still thought it was great.
That might be why all of my images are too dark - I left the lens cap on :p

I acree with mnkeybsness, there really is no need to partition your drive.
The original need to partition drives was when computers could only access 2gb at a time, so you had to partition a particularly large drive to get use of all the platter space.
There is no limitation like this nowadays. As a result it's actually detrimental to partition as your machine thinks i has more than one drive, but the platter is still read from a single armiture - thus will wear out the drive sooner.
The first thing you should do is start the puppy up, and see what happens. If the drive needs formatting, pop the OS X disk in, and find Disk Utility. Erase, format, and innstall.

It seems to me that the French generally don't have issues with Lance, but there is a small (yet vocal) minority that is very anti-Lance. I guess the French don't have much tolerance for Texans... ;)
To be honest I'd like to see if Ulrich can win again post-Lance - he was always a great sportsman and his rivalry with Lance (while a bit hyped) was very entertaining to watch.

Hello all, I have recently received a iMac G5 for very cheap, I tested the machine and i have no display. The first 2 LEDS come on and the third does not. i believe the issue with it is blown capacitors, although im not 100% on this. I have never dealt with a capacitor issue so i'd figure i'd ask if that really is the problem, so it can be fixed. Heres an image of my iMac

Are the ones on the left needing replaced? Theres about 15 in the machine that look similiar, and few that look like whats on the right.
If this is indeed my problem, where could i get the capacitors that i need?
Do you see those lines across the top of the capacitors. Those are there so if the device fails it will be a more or less controlled explosion where the metal slips on those lines. Failed caps are dead on obvious and make a big mess
If yu really do think one is bad un-solder it and test it. It takes all of 5 minutes and you've got not much to loose
There is absolutely no way to diagnose this without some test equipment. Get at least a multi-meter and likely a meter and an oscilloscope. Then
If you do need to replace them they are 25 cent parts and you don't nee a perfect exact match any electronic parts place will have them.
There is no way to look at this without some test equipment, you cannot see the signal in the traces with your eyes not can you visually see a defective component except in the extreme case of one that has let out some fire and smoke

I thought displayout only works with the VGA adapter for mirrored images on the ipad1?
