thank you for replying! but i think im doing it wrong. i tried to follow the link you had but its not working for me. can you please help walk me through it or anyone else who wants to help me? i started up my mac with the mac os x dvd and went to the disk utility but my bootcamp partition wasnt allowing me to repair it ( grayed out options ).
That link is for getting an OS X install up and running if it won't boot. That link won't work at all for windows. Flopticalcube was talking about putting the windows install DVD into your computer, and running windows startup repair from that disk.

Did you have trouble scaling it to fit the size requirement? ;)
The sad part is that I did play around with formats and color tables a bit to reduce the size.

I am leaving the mac world :( I just got a HP computer with a slow celeron and 256 memory. My parents though need a more powerful computer, their 233 mhz beige isn't cutting it. So i am giving them my eMac and using the HP still macs hit intel. This is not going to be fun.
Why don't you give them the HP and you keep the eMac? Just a thought... or couldn't you have bought a MacMini for the low cost of what you paid for an HP?

Hello all,
I had a hunch that this would only be a matter of time, and sure enough, it's happened. My November 2009 MacBook has officially begun to crack in a few areas on the case. The main cracking is on the rear of the computer where the hinge connects to the screen. There is also one crack beginning to form on the left side of my palm rest area. I wonder if apple will provide free replacements for this model as well. This makes me believe apple should just get rid of the plastics altogether.

There's only so many ways in which you can lay out what Apple has already chewed up and spat out. We can forgive MS for using the same layout, obviously. Of course, it's also obvious that this is another "me too" effort by them in a long string of late-to-the-party last-ditch attempts to not look like complete retards.
Anyway, are these shots even confirmed?
They are in desperate need of a change in management, regardless.

So yesterday I happened across these and bought them on a whim.
I've seen a lot of people gripe about these, including and not limited to iLounge, etc. citing how terrible they are because they don't give you access to controls, protect against drops, etc. I can't help but wonder why people would even criticize them for that, when they were so obviously not designed to be a full on case.
They are a pouch for your iPod, simple as that. For the purpose they are intended, they are wonderful.
The reason I bought them was because I used to never use cases, I would always just put my iPods on a lint free cloth on my desk and never let them touch hard surfaces to avoid scratching. Some time ago, I finally decided I loved SwitchEasy's hard plastic case lines, and swear by them. Unfortunately, for a couple of my iPods, they predate SwitchEasy, or the products simply aren't available and I can't find others I like. Additionally, even though the hard cases I have are great, I'm still uneasy throwing them in a pocket or a bag with lots of other stuff knocking around, so even with a case, I think a little pouch serves a purpose. So I decided to give the socks a whirl.
The quality is great, as to be expected, albeit overpriced. I gave the pink one to my wife for her pink nano 5G, so I just have five. Fresh out of the box:

From left to right, tucked neatly inside--5.5G, mini, nano 5G (nano is in a SwitchEasy CapsuleThin case):
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5106/5675593739_60d249263b_z.jpg
Here you can see the 7G classic, with the SwitchEasy Capsule Classic case, still fits nicely inside:
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5306/5676156056_90bf8bea97_z.jpg
One thing you will notice in the picture above--you can see little specks of shiny metal, that is the iPod you can see inside. A lot of people complain that these socks scratch their iPods, but I think what's happening is that little pieces of dust get inside and rub against the iPod. However, without the SwitchEasy case, you can not see these little specks of iPod as the case isn't stretches enough.
These fit very well with the iPods I have, and thus far don't seem to stretch much, if at all. They contract quickly as soon as you pop the Classic out, though that may change long term. The nano 5G, in a case, inside the sock, feels great. The mini feels perfect. I don't know how the nano 5G would feel without the case, possibly a little loose.
My thoughts:
Pros:
--High quality
--Perfect for traveling/transporting iPods in a purse/bag/suitcase amidst other things
--They do NOT scratch the iPod, at least the fabric itself doesn't
--Great supplementary travel protection to be used alongside cases/films
--Fit well over many iPods, including the bulky Classic when it's in a case
Cons:
--Expensive
--Possibly could get dust inside which may scratch against an unprotected iPod if you plan on using these everyday as main/primary protection
Recommendation:
Would buy again for my needs. I mainly bought them to protect one iPod that never gets used (in other words it will just sit in the sock on my desk more or less) and another iPod that lives in my SoundDock, that may occasionally need to travel. I mainly bought these socks for travel transportation for all of my iPods, and I think they will work excellent that way. I probably wouldn't use them as sole protection on an iPod I use all the time, taking it in and out constantly, and taking it everywhere--but I would use it everyday so long as the iPod is in another case inside. For your needs, they may work well, or they may be completely pointless. In the end, they are a basic pouch that do their job wonderfully, IMO.

I just picked up a Slim Type and a Mighty Mouse from Circuit City and the keyboard looks and works great. I'm still getting used to it, but it's pretty close to my PowerBook keyboard, just feels a little wider. I like the scissor switches and the shallow depth. Just wish it had USB ports on it so it and the MM wouldn't take up two ports.
I HATE the new Mac keyboards, too damn mushy for my taste and I can't type for shite on them. But, they're a 1000 times better than the POS that came with my PowerMac 7100/66 way back in '94, though. WORST feeling keyboard ever.

Amoeba is an awful place to buy used CDs - any location.
It's fine for vinyl and even new CDs releases, but the selection and prices are superior at any of the online places mentioned above - eBay, Amazon, Half.com and even SecondSpin.
Yeah, Amoeba's used CD quality is quite sketchy. SecondSpin is decent or Rasputin.

Like others I have some computers on all of the time. I have two linux boxes and it is easy to run folding in the background and I can never tell. In fact on my Slackware machine I don't even use a GUI, so I have folding on one terminal window and I use Telnet and IRC on other telnet windows. That is about all the Slackware machine does so it can handle a little folding.
Regardless of if my systems make a difference, or I score very many points, I could possibly be doing some good and I have contributed to the team and I think it would be neat to build a Folding cluster of old Macs and Linux boxes.

Hmmmm.... You probably should report this to apple!

I've been trying to find a USB KVM switch in the UK, and i'm not having much luck. The only ones i can find are ones where the output of the keys/mouse is usb, but the Input of the unit is PS/2.
I really want one with USB inputs, so i can use an Apple keyboard. Does anyone have any idea of where to look? I've checked ebay, dabs, ebuyer, pc world. They only seem to sell the PS/2 > USB ones..

I dont trust you, so anything you post is crap to me.
And I cant afford a free iPad? that doesnt even make sense! go back to school. I actually paid for my iPad and all the other things I own while I do a job aswell as go to university which is a 2 hour ride there and another 2 hours back.

Hello Everyone on Macrumors,
Just wanted to say that I am running a Developer Preview of Mac OS X Lion and it is pretty cool. There are a few bugs here and there but otherwise it works great. Has all the features that they Demoed in the Keynote in October (those are the big ones) they also changed the look of all the buttons (They look cool and more modern because the buttons have been the same since 10.0)
If anyone wants to ask me anything about it I will be happy to answer any questions
Posting a Screen Shot of one of my favorite features.

There's too many brands for me to list, but I'll just start off.
Apple
Zephryhills
Nike
Polo
Sennheiser
Samsung (TVs mainly... though the camera I have is nice)
Swatch
Levis
Google
more to come soon... (this list will be updated continuously)
OP: You should just create some categories for people. Like technology, shoes, watches, shirts, jeans, audio, resturants, etc. You won't get every topic, but it will give an idea to people on what to post

Here is a link to a discussion of AAC issues. Hopefully your answer is there (if you've not already seen this website).
Good luck.
