As stated: Syphon Filter is excellent, but other than that I would recommend the following...
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
(if you have the Japanese gps, I'm pretty sure you can unlock characters while you travel from WiFi hotspot to hotspot)
Field Commander(if you don't feel like buying/bringing a DS for Advance Wars)
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Daxter
Family Guy is fun on the portable, but I don't know if it has the replay value you are looking for.
.....and of course ANY of the Grand Theft Auto's have plenty of challenges to keep you gaming for a while.

the 2.33 c2d is the fastest cpu in that socket. this was the top of the line mini mod in 2007/8. the socket changed in 09 and the cpu has been glued/soldered in tight

Yeah, it should. And your statement isn't QUITE correct. There was PC1600. (Slower than PC2100,) but it was really unusual. By the time DDR became mainstream, PC2100 was the norm.
sweet... then i am upping my ram to 384! these system is crippled. it wouldn't be so bad if it had dedicated video memory. I get horrible lag when trying to open calculater while firefox is open.

for a simple carrying case i would definitly recommend the Tom Bihn brain cell, the build quality is outstanding and i know they make one that fits the 17".

I remember reading an article online about Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel. This is a new low-sulfur diesel (pretty much equivilent to European low-sulfur diesel) that is going to replace the current-grade US Diesel (which has 50 times more sulfur). Here's a link. It's supposed to be phased in starting next year, so maybe we'll see more diesels offered for sale in the near future. I think SUV's especially should start using these more fuel-efficient engines.

17 form factor is killer. People always tell me it is to big....Cool don't get one. I used it easily for travel to Europe and on the road. No problem. The new one with better graphics card and 30% faste CPU thne mine is looking pretty desirable...Might hold out for dual core on the 12th of never.LOL

I would use Python as there is a Cocoa bridge for Python. Though untimately you will need an understanding of Obj-C and Cocoa to make decent Mac OSX apps. Even if you are coding in Python.

I have an old LC 575 that I'm using for mostly playing games and some word processing, no internet, though. I'm wondering if I should upgrade from 7.5.5 to 7.6 or from 7.5.5 to 8.0. I'm probably going to pick up 32mb of RAM soon, so I'm ready for any OS to be on it.
Any thoughts?
You'll probably get different answers but my opinion would be that unless the game requires it, don't upgrade to a later system.

Why don't you try one of these many jailbreaks you have "seen online" instead of posting this ridiculous thread, you could even use the search option, I would go as far as to say that it would be front page news on macrumors if it had happened anywhere other than in your imagination!

I jailbroke it because now I can add cydia apps that bypass some shortcomings of the native iPad (password protecting specific apps, mail enhancements, widgets, etc)
In my second post on this thread, I stated that I just reset the iPad and still have the same problem.
Just go to an Apple retail store, they'll fix it for you. Worst case scenario you'll get a replacement but since you jail broke the device, it may void the warranty without the exception of this issue. You don't seem to be clear enough of your problem.
Did you have this issue of the apps icon disappearing before you jail broke it? If you did, why didn't you go to Apple to look at it for you?
Or... Did this happen after jail breaking and the problem still persists even after factory reset?

My toaster is asking for an extension cord.

Are you using the Bluetooth keyboard? That won't work with Windows XP setup. You'll need to have a wired one hooked up until after the Bootcamp drivers are installed. If you only need one program, though, you might be better off with Parallels or VMWare Fusion so that you can continue doing tasks on the Mac OS at the same time.
