It's in the retail case, it's a DVT prototype so it's probably close to being finished.
Do you have a tracking number or know when it will come in?

Coolio! - *adds name to list of people who want pics*
It would also be interesting to see if the person who had it kept the HD - It is unlikely, but it could have an early development build of Mac OS X Installed - as even back then Apple had Internal Builds for Prototypes to handle all the extra I/O.

It seems weird that the trial version contains advertisements. I would think the trial would be the same as the full version. Anyway, did you get it to work with FaceTime on 4.3.2? I haven't been able to get it to work since updating, and was wondering if I was alone with this problem.
I actually never actually used it while I had it installed, was a just in case thing as my gf recently bought an iPad 2 plus I'm still on 4.3.1 as I have LockInfo setup just how I want it and can't be bothered with the upgrade right now.

Err sorry but um, what leads you to believe there is a problem with the thermal paste? Heat? Macs get pretty hot, download a fan controller.

No, but Skynet did take over Apple. See proof (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/20/researchers-disclose-iphone-and-ipad-location-tracking-privacy-issues/).
I always wondered if Arn let you guys keep all the Spam you delete. :)

i've generated my password file w/ the htpasswd command.
my .htaccess file looks like this:
AuthUserFile /Users/zim/Sites/.htpasswd
AuthName ByPassword
AuthType Basic
Require valid-user
i've removed index.html from ~/Sites. when i browse to http://127.0.0.1/~zim, i get a directory listing, but no user/password challenge.
this is my first foray into apache. i've made no changes to the default install (i'm on osx 10.2.6). here's some apache info:

How long do you think it will take to have to knowledge to actually write my own App. That would be App Store quality ?
Depends on what the App is supposed to do. ;)
There are plenty of apps in the store that could be written by someone with no knowledge in ~6 weeks on their own, but there are also many that are much larger.
You will get a better appreciation of this as you make it through the books you have on hand.
Skip "Become and Xcoder" it's too outdated to be useful .
From Apress Learn Objective-C on the Mac (http://www.amazon.com/Learn-Objective-C-Mac-Scott-Knaster/dp/1430218150/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1304255800&sr=1-1) gets far better reviews than "Objective C for Absolute Beginners"
"Beginning iPhone 4 Development" also gets good reviews, but may require some previous knowledge, and "Mac Programming for Absolute Beginners" is so new it does not yet have any reviews on Amazon.
I would suggest Kochan's "Programming in Objective-C 2.0 (2nd Edition) (http://www.amazon.com/Programming-Objective-C-2-0-Stephen-Kochan/dp/0321566157/)" as an alternative place to start. It is the "standard" book for learning Objective-C 2.0 and as such many folks are familiar with its content.
You need to do what keeps you engaged. If that means working on iOS apps on the hardware, do that, if you learn better by developing a fundamental base, you will generally spend a lot of time on console (text I/O) stuff that will help you develop the underlying knowledge you need.

For people that installed 4.3.3 on their iPhone 4s.....how is the upgrade? Is it better than 4.3.2? Does it help with animation stutter, lag and battery life?
I am contemplating whether to upgrade or not as the last two upgrades messed up my perfectly fine iP4 which was running like a champ on 4.2.X.

Trust me, it's going to be much easier to just use MailChimp. They have a free option, as long as it's less that 2000 contacts and less than 12,000 emails per month. You just embed their signup form on your website, and you can compose the emails elsewhere and copy/paste, or use their forms. For someone that's not computer-savvy, it's really the best way by far, and since it's free, nothing to lose really.
EDIT: If you want to see an example form, here's mine: http://www.thewalkersinjapan.com/p/contact-us_3431.html

Is there any reason you can't figure out how to use copy paste from the screenshot within preview?
No, I guess not. I could probably do copy and paste. I was trying to use the screen shot feature instead to see how it works.

I am planning to make the switch from PC to Mac. I have an iPad, and soon a iPhone. Was wondering if the mac mini will be upgrading the processor from duo core to i3 or i5 in the upcoming months. Maybe I should just get a desktop iMac.

just to clarify, i'm not asking for advice in if I should invest. I understand concerns that apple has hit an all time high, but I strongly believe it will only increase in the next year.
If anyone has any advice as to how I can do this that would be great.

Ok, I know there has been so much talk about a possible MBA refresh in June.. Here is my concern. I just got a MBA 11 Ultimate for a Birthday gift.. I have another week to return it to the Apple Store.. Should I wait for the refresh or just keep this one.. Backlit keyboard is not an issue and dont think it will return in the Air line again.. Being they got me the Ultimate with the 4GB Ram and 128 SSD thats good enough for me ( just using it for surfing the web, email, and some netflix ) My concern is the SandyBridge and the lesser quality graphics. And maybe a UPDATE in a SD card slot that would be nice in the refresh.. I also checked my SSD and it is the newer version Samsung with the FAST read and write speed. So Im good with that.. Any help would be great.. Im thinking to KEEP what I have for my needs! I would hate to shoot myself in the foot and return this one wait and then be pissed..

What are you talking about? The first link gives an overview. The last link goes into great technical detail. You have to click the links and read more than just the first page.
read that too. but i think i have found something more at the developers page now.

Since I got it so cheap, I want to upgrade the hell out of it and use it as my primary machine (age of it be damned). I want to expand the RAM fully to 16 GB, put a fast 2 GB HDD in, and get the best possible Video card available.
Good for you! Glad to hear another PPC admirer is willing to keep his Mac going even when the nay-sayers shoot your idea down. My 1.25ghz iMac G4 is my primary desktop at home, and my 800mhz one is my primary office desktop. I have to say, 9 out of 10 people that come in compliment my iMac. :) Your Powermac would likely receive equal compliments from me.
2. What is everyone's opinion to the possibility that after I get this thing where I want it, Apple will drop support for Leopard and I will no longer be able to sync my iPhone, iPad, or iPods to it. I of course, Plan to keep my Intel Macs running on the other end of the room (along with my "necessary" PC) but since I sit in THIS chair in my office most of the time, it would be nice to do everything from right here...
I can't answer your first question, but I have to say that this will likely come sooner than later. Within the next 2 years, I'd guess. Apple has a tendency to focus on 2 Operating Systems at a time - the current, and the most recent. Tiger is just about dead to them after a very long and happy life - longer than any Mac OS before it I'd say.
Since Leopard is the last string that ties PPC users have to the most recent Apple tech they can get their hands on, I'd say Apple would support it longer than Tiger, but not much longer than they already have. The iPhone 4 and iPad 2 both support 10.5.8, which surprised me - to my pleasure - and I'd guess the next round of iPods, the iPhone 5, and the iPad 3 would support 10.5, but my guess is that'll be it.
My iPhone 4 happily syncs with my iMac at home, and it's entirely convenient that my old desktop is my media hub, keeping stuff off my laptops, but the convenience won't be a measure when 10.5 doesn't support my iPhone. I'll always have an iPhone, and I'll keep my iMac G4 going as long as I can. When they drop support for 10.5, worst case, I'll have to migrate all my media to my MacBook - even though everything in one place (even backed up) isn't my ideal safety scenario.
Hope my thoughts help! Sorry for my long-winded post, as usual.

Can you still see all your RAM? Is there anything running in the background like Seti@Home and so on?
All the ram is there. No seti's. Thanks.
