It really doesn't. WWDC costs over $1000 to attend and devs need to book hotel reservations etc. It's a very big deal for them so they are given enough time to get ready.

inevitably your right to do "whatever" starts to be limited when your actions infringe on somebody else's rights or cause harm to others.
In any event, federal/state/local governments all have the right to regulate commerce so your "rights" when it comes to operating a business are already limited and regulated

...Which your ISP has kept a record of that YOU had that dynamic IP at a specific date and time. Your ISP knows when and for how long they hand out each IP address. It's called record keeping. I know which user on my LAN at my business has which DHCP given IP. It's simple historical data.

Thanks for the screenshots.
Slightly concerned that some services appear to be either missing altogether or lacking in functionality.
Hopefully we'll see them appear before the final version appears. It seems from the look of those screenshots that a lot of stuff has been re-written from the ground up.
I'm liking the look of the new web based features :)

most of the people who don't stop eating for like 3 months to buy an iPhone 4, will probably afford and buy that kit but the other ones like me won't do that

It's not about making Sony lose out. Most of the people buying the single realise that either way, Sony benefits. Yes, Cowell will benefit slightly as he has shares in Sony, but he won't benefit nearly as much as he would if X Factor was number 1. I think it's just that people are fed up of X Factor dominating the charts year after year, and they want to see something new. Myself, I don't mind the RATM song, yes if it was my choice I'd have picked another, but anything is better than the cheesy manufactured pop that comes from Reality TV singing competitions.

People won't buy it if they don't like it or don't care! They buy it to support the artist, or because they do like it (exactly the same reasons that people buy any artist's music). If the song came out in the middle of August I'm willing to bet it would get similar results (minus the obvious increase in sales of all artists due to xMas presents etc.).

I hear all this talk about an iPhone coming soon, which is great, but what carrier will Apple use?
It looks like they are going to use Cingular or maybe T-Mobile. I really doubt Apple using Sprint, Verizon or ONLY wifi. Wifi would be pointless because it would be very limited to certain areas only. I think their phones will be GSM, and all us customers who use cdma will be left out in the cold.
There are a lot more restrictions on a cdma phone than on a GSM phone. This really sucks because Verizon is the only company that works where I live...

I don't think Pages is horrible. It's not great, but it isn't quite as bad for me as everyone else finds it. I don't use it all that much (Keynote gets used far more than Pages does).

The sample I see here shows a way to make a phone's games or videos interact with toys.
Another example I've read (subway farecard) would tell people that I'm subway rider 25879346 or something. I've also read about using it as a credit card, which would require a PIN number to use. Anyone can currently snap a photo of you handing a card to a cashier, so it's no different from that.
None of these are shouting out anything about who I am. If you're critisizing something else, you'll have to actually tell me what you're talking about since it hasn't been mentioned here yet.

I've got the full 3GB that it'll recognize. I'm mostly concerned about the old video card.
The person who asked you how much ram you meant was referring to your video card ram not your system ram. I think that that GPU only has 128MBs of VRAM but am not 100% sure off the top of my head. but it is an older GPU you will probably have no problems running it on low but don't expect to run it on anything higher if your lucky you might be able to run at med settings depending on what res you run at. VRam is not as important as most people think it is. The processing power of the GPU itself is much more important.

Off-topic comment, but still related to external storage.
I received my Mac mini around noon, and I found something the previous (at least the GMA950 Core 2 Duo) model didn't support: USB flash storage works when connected to a side USB port of the aluminium Apple keyboard. My older Mac mini complains about lacking power via that USB port but the new one works just fine!

By the end of this year I will have paid the final payment on my loans... I can't believe it's been 15 years! Worst investment I ever made.
Seriously, one of the most eye-opening things when I entered college was learning that I did *not* possess a liberal, open-minded view of race relations. I grew up in a white neighborhood, with nice liberal white teachers, always telling us how we are all equal. I always admired Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speeches when I heard them.
I thought that was the prevailing view until I got to college. I was so naive I wanted to run up to the first black guy I saw, give him a hug, and tell him I understand. Ha, not really, but you know what I mean. Guilty white liberal kid. I was stunned by the violent reaction I got before I'd ever opened my mouth.
Wow. The whole thing was just turned on its head. Nobody talked about true equality as a goal - it was all about power, grievance, reparations... and everything I learned just sounded shockingly racist. I was told that was just how whites see things. Rookie mistake!
