you should try wordpress + flickr.
both are free, and once set up, you can snap pix on your cell phone and send them to a special email address that will automatically post them to your wordpress blog.
easy, breezy, beautiful.

Obviously it's faster, but has anyone actually checked how much faster? I'd like to switch my main box to the console app but I don't want to lose all the work I've done on this WU.. Is there a way to do that, or should I just bite the bullet and lose the current WU?
I'm guessing you're talking about folding@home...
Yes, the non-GUI version is muc, much faster. Wait until you finish this WU, then switch. Simple as that.

I too have been using Mactubes, and it works better than the in-browser flash player, but I can't seem to get quicktime to work.
"Can not open video. Please open URL with browser."
That's the error that I get when I switch to Quicktime. Any ideas?

I knew this was coming - Java 6u20 has security issues that this update addresses, albeit later than I hoped for. I hope this does not break my existing Java apps.

Maybe I'm getting old, but there doesn't seem to be any right now. :( All of the games I find interesting are being funneled/gimped to the 360, or the promising ones have been blah in general. The only game that my PC buddies got into, which I didn't for obvious reasons, was WoW, which of course is cross platform. Now that's all some of them play.
I haven't bought a PC game for a few years now. My PC Tower(s) are only on for a little bit of work these days.
What type of games do you like, I can ask my friends if they've found anything good at the moment, or if WoW is still consuming their lives? I've been gaming on PCs since the eighties and prior to this drout used ot game all of the time, mostly online and via LAN parties. And MS thinks we'll pay for services that are still free...
This is the only game (http://www.2kgames.com/bioshock/) I'm even remotely interested in playing. But I'm not hold my breath, since System Shock 2 and other games that uses a similar approach to the first one, kind of blew chuncks in comparison.

Whilst I appreciate that you have to have Ads on the site to generate revenue, there have been a few that pop up during the last few weeks with sound in them (I've attached an image of one such ad).
I actually make Flash based Ads from time to time and the guidelines are always clear that sound shouldn't be playing without either a rollover event or a user interaction.
I don't suppose you can removed/do something about these...they're really ruining my Pink Floyd.
Cheers!
Edit: Just seen another thread on this...sorry, I didn't check before posting.

I am planning to make the switch from PC to Mac. I have an iPad, and soon a iPhone. Was wondering if the mac mini will be upgrading the processor from duo core to i3 or i5 in the upcoming months. Maybe I should just get a desktop iMac.

One of the rumors is that they will be adding Redcode support to Final Cut for those fancy 4K hd Red Cameras. Personally I'm hoping for a Macbook Pro update similar to the way they announced the Mac Pro updates during CES.

@blevins321:
Thanks for the suggestion, it's very useful. I've already done that for my dad, and it works when he saves contacts through the contacts app.
The main issue is that Apple has made it (rightfully so) very intuitive to save a contact from the dialer or recent-calls menu. all you have to do is click the right-arrow and you'll be able to "add to contacts", which dumps it into the iphone-contacts folder, instead of exchange, regardless of the default contact view in the contacts app.
I myself don't add contacts through the contacts app, as I normally key in the number in the dialer then hit the "+" button to create a contact :/

I'm there with the Bear.
Also, from an email I got from apple: Apple Expo will begin at 11 a.m. (CET) Tuesday, September 20 at the Porte de Versailles in Paris. There will not be a formal keynote presentation at this year's Apple Expo at Palais des Congrs.
So I'm guessing that means no major releases. You may have to hold out a while longer for your multi-media 'Pod yet!
..But you never know with Apple - damn them, damn them all!

[...]I've heard that some people (like really smart fanboys) know how to do it.
I was going to help you until I read that line.
Instead, all you'll get from me is this comment, and a stiff suggestion that you use this tool (http://www.google.com/), like everyone else has for years. I'm confident even you could have found an answer if you tried.

The first thing you need to confirm is that the logo is indeed in vector form when you open it in Illustrator and not just a bounding box indicating pixel-based art.
Toggle the keyboard shortcut Command + Y or go to the pulldown menu View > Outline (or alternatively Preview) to view your art in both modes.
If you have actual vector art, then check the following...
• Pulldown menu Window > Layers - are there any locked layers?
• Pulldown menu Object - is Unlock All in black? That would indicate an object has been locked.
Those would be two things to check.
I've checked these things that you've mentioned, but the problem is that I just can't find an option to cut a piece out of the logo. Here is an example (imagine it as a nicely designed logo):
''MacRumors: Forums
mac community discussion forums''
Just imagine the text to be in a nice logo with different colors and stuff. What I want to do is to cut only the part ''MacRumors: Forums'' out of it so that I can use it separately. I know that Photoshop can do it, but the problem with Photoshop is that it converts .EPS (vector) files to a pixel image and I need to scale it up in Illustrator afterwards so this isn't an option for me. Illustrator just doesn't seem to have a simple scissor/cut tool to cut out parts of a placed image, or am I totally missing something?
Anyway: thanks for your reply.
