Well the news is out that Comex jailbroke an iPad 2 from 2,500 miles away from the device. Some tweaks and apps, well did not work. Also, Comex said that JailbreakMe should be available on the web not later then this week, if not early next week. So who is excited? I am.

Has anyone had a close look at the main picture on Apple's preview page? The sender of the email in the top pane is 'Katie Lorenzo' but in the preview pane her name is 'Amy Lorenzo'. Also, the delivery time is out by almost an hour.

I'm guessing this is sarcasm.
It is a toy. You can't seriously think that professionals are going to depend on Photoshop for iPad and throw away their computer can you? That's like throwing away your computer because GarageBand is also available on the iPad, and attempting to produce an album on an iPad. Impossible.
No matter what Steve says, it is a toy! I think it is brilliant you can do these things on such a simple product for the average user, but they are nothing more than for... the average user.

If it had a fully functional lightroom.. thats another story.

VW figured out that bigger sells better in the mid-size four door sedan market, so they bumped it up. They decontented a bit, and they also moved production to the US (http://www.autoblog.com/2011/01/09/2012-volkswagen-passat-chattanooga-vw/). I guess VW has decided to move from "affordable German luxury" back to "The people's car".
It's a shame, really, because they are removing the very qualities that would make me shop for a VW. I would prefer a Golf though. As I said above, I wonder if Golf will maintain its more European character, or if it too will be dumbed-down and upsized.

I tried it several months ago and found it to be extremely buggy to the point that it pretty much didn't work. However the idea behind the app is exactly what I am looking for.
Has anyone used it lately with any success?
I can't wait for this app to be ready for primetime. I will be able to shut my android buddies up with their "tasker" bs...........

So is this guy going to write to Steve Jobs every time he finds an iPad on eBay for $100 less than retail? How about 1� auctions?
On that subject, w ww.madbids.com can't show their TV adverts in the UK anymore, as they are misleading their customers.
Another point... I expect that TJ MAXX just bought up a bunch of the Refurbished iPads and is taking a $50 loss on each to get people in the stores.
Selling refurbished iPads as new _would_ be illegal. And I'd be curious where they would have found refurbished iPads.
Is this specific to iPad and iPod? The standard warranty most certainly transfers, since I have bought a Powerbook long ago on CraigsList and used the warranty to get repairs.
You'd have to check what warranty Apple gives voluntarily, and what warranty they are required to give by law. Whatever they give you voluntarily, they can set the rules. They are probably fine with people buying Macs and selling them a year later used (that's actually good for Apple because those people then have cash to buy a new Mac), but don't like unauthorised resellers (because they make Apple's authorised resellers unhappy).

If this is from their website, what is their issue with letting users opt-out in their iPad app?

It is about two things:
(a) Knowing their demographics
(b) Being able to communicate directly with their customers, even if is only about new features or special offers (there are two checkboxes, people might agree to first one but not the second one, Apple with its great simplicity won't allow such differentiated options)

Try enabling Certificate Revocation checking on your fully updated Mac OS X install and see how long it takes for Mac App Store to show up and how long it then takes to go through the various tabs.
Also for fun - try enabling password for the screensaver and 60 minute idle logout. Then put your laptop to sleep and come back 60 min later only to have hung login window that accepts no input - works that way every time for me.
For all the jabs they took at Windows - Apple's is most untested OS after Linux distros. Looks like they only do surface tests - only the defaults are covered.

What was the image size? If you're wanting to get a leg up in the field for some real Photoshop work back at the office, you'll be using some big files. Especially if you start adding Layers. I doubt that these were very high rez. With 512MB ram, this is would a terrible real-world print application. Others have said this would be nice to play around with or to show off the iPad, but that's about all. I suppose you could do low-rez composites for a client, but I'd rather do that with a 15-17-inch MBP. You have a big screen, Photoshop CS5, plug in a stylus, 8GB RAM ---> that's a comp tool. IPad...? Not so much.

I dont have .mac, but I do run my own mail server from home, and use squirrelmail... i like the look of the new .mac webmail....
all i need now is for someone to release a simular setup, opensource for me to d/l and install... mmmmm
I think it does look nice. I just hope this is include in Leopard server as well. I would love to run my own mail server with this type of webmail interface.
Try RoundCube (http://www.roundcube.net/). Pretty similar, works well for my IMAP webmail systems. :) ;)

I don't think there ever was a ppc 602 processor... at least in a mac. Am I wrong? 601, 603e and 604 (SWEET!).
