I wrote to cnn.com highlighting the plight of us aspiring "legal" immigrants, if cnn won't cover it, I am planning to write to Lou Dobbs, if I am given the opportunity to be come a naturalized citizen, he is definitely going to listen to me :)

My attorney received an email notice of I-140 approval (PP) on Mon, June 25. But the online case status showed the application as pending. Finally,today my attorney called and was told that due to "system glitch ", approval notices were sent out in error!! It seems this has done to others too!!

If she gets her H1 visa stamped while returning and then uses that to re-enter the country then even if the I-485 gets rejected then she can continue on her H1 visa and will not be Out of Status. That is a good strategy to maintain status with pending I-485.

yes, u need to inform them of every small move u make, all ur life. this holds true even after ur us citizenship is approved.

The timing also depends on which country you belong to. Fill out he profile as much as possible. That helps a bit.

I changed address on pending I-485 and I-765(EAD) on 8/20 and 8/20 evening I received Card production order email for EAD. When I called the 800 number to make sure they have the correct address they said they don't have access to personal information. Upon asking to connect to second level CSR/IO they said they can't forward my call there. They asked me to take InfoPass for this.

When I asked IO if 2008 quota visa numbers released at all after 1st Oct 2007 …. Answer I got back was…..”yes” but they were released before 1st Oct 2007 and already got consumed in September 2007…. Now they are waiting for state dept. to release more 2008 quota visa numbers it seems……and IO on call didn’t have any clue on when the new visa numbers will be released from State Dept."

When your H1B application is pending, you have additional 240 days after your H1B is expired (if you filed extension).
When you entered using AP and H1B is pending your status will be Parolee and you have to work with somekind of authorization status (like EAD). at this time your H1 status will be lost and H4 will lost also. You and your wife will need to have somekind of legal status (like AOS).
BUT when you have your H1B approval (the started date usually begin after your H1B expiration date), you can ask your employer to record your work authorization using H1B and at this time you can file for H4.
my suggestion before you leave US is to file H1B extension from US and after you get H1B extension receipt then you will need to apply for H4 extension right away. With this case you don't have to go outside US and don't need to use AP.

I don't know many people are eagerly looking for Nov bulletine. I am almost done with looking for any hope in near future. Most of EB-2 guys might be following these bulletines. If there are some indications that dates are changing then we see lot of traffic on this forum , otherwise just like sleeping dog!

Dude, if you find it difficult to digest, then don't do it with your kid. Its that simple.
A debate on this is probably not warranted, as its subjective to every individual's situation.
And btw, both my kids live with me, but they travelled with someone else to spend their vacation at grand-parent's house, so I am not trying to oppose your viewpoint.

I'm a Jul 02 filer and I received the 485 and 765 notices recently.
However, the PRIORITY DATE cell in receipts for both 485 & 765 is BLANK. Is this the usual practice? Shouldn't my PD be populated on these receipt notices?

I know someone who did not pay the bill but returned to US without any questions

My parents visited here in US last year. Unfortunately my mother got high fever and admitted in hospital giving me bill of 30000$.
Insurance company denied my claims as pre existing condition. I tried several ways to convince insurance company but all in vain.
I negotiated with hospital to pay 15000 and paid off hospital bill.
I also got a doctor bill later and that went to collections. I didnt pay doctor bill (500 dollars) till today.
Does this 500 dollar collection notice will effect my mothers next visit?
If I pay now does it matter anyway?
Is there any chance of deportation?
Please advice...

my case was sent to TX office on 6/29 for 7/2 delivery and i checked online the receipt date was 7/31. dont know why. should be 7/2
but i got FP notice on 9/10 for appt dt = 9/25

I was thinking that I can get the F1 > Opt > H1 > File 485 thru EB2 Since my spouse's 485 is stuck in mud with priority dated 2003 EB3 category. So, I was wondering that can I have file my own 485 EB2 parallel to my spouse EB3. I would really appreciate if you could provide guidence or alternative approach.
