Which is better if you have 10% down payment only?
FHA loan or conventional?I am told that for 10% down,its very tough to get conventional loans.Is that correct?Please advise.

Thanks for the info..! btw, what about my first question ..When do the 90 days wait start counting? NBC received my app on July 2nd.. Does it mean it's 90 days after July 2nd??

Boy, you cant wait for EAD ...:) I don't blame ya for that, I think in case of July 2nd you should count from the date when your check gets cashed. In case of July filers we should not be surprised if EADs and APs take more than 6 months being on cynical side.

My main concern is RD of 28th August.....Does that mean that we are falling out of August 17 window and our cases will be put on hold or may be denied.......
Atleast, if I had RD of July 2, 2007...when our cases reached USCIS....I would not worry about it that much.....
Now...when it get transfered to NSC, will we get new case #s....I think all cases at NSC starts with LIN....
Anybody else in same situation?

I think I would like to see more post saying -
1) I contacted my congress member or Senator. Have their commitment to support legal immigration.
2) I send mail to XYX number of my friend to join IV. Some may join and some may ridicule. But as IV member you did the job. The new member could either contribute 5 minutes of time everyday to contact Senator, Congress member or contacting friend, contibute money or at least raise the membership of this forum. Remember we are putting time to help ourself not IV. Because I know after most of us get GC, we will move on with life and next generation IV member will continue the effort.
3) I would like to see people in major city, launching a compaign to collect money. One of the idea which I think would be very useful is working with the Temple authority and selling food on some occasion. Some kind of arrangement should be made with Temple authority to get major part of sale collection to IV. This way we multiply our money. $20 can be easily made into $100 with some time from members.
My limitation is - I am in a village. But I will do something. I would not let limitation stop me.

Sree, even I have travelled using AP last year. My lawyer told me that it should not be problem for H1B transfer. I have not used EAD to work though.
My question is, do I need to provide copy of approved I-140 with my new h1b transfer request to get 3 years ext? I've already completed 5 years on h1b.

I got the paperwork from my attorney for my wife's 485 as they want us to be ready so that if dates are current, we just mail the paperwork without having to start at that time.
However, my wife is pregnant and i am not sure if medical examinations are possible. What are my options ?
Complete medicals without the vaccines, etc which cannot be taken during pregnancy. The Civil surgeon shoould make a note on the medical report that the applicant is pregnant and so medical is incomplete.
When your 485 is picked up for processing, an RFE will be issued and then she can complete the rest.

Yeh you guys are right, almost everyone is doing it. Don't know whats up with her.....
If I was you, would give a second thought or have a plan B in place to switch to better attorney who at least knows some basic not like your current lawyer....(ask your lawyer to take some crash course & refresh her memory!!!)
not to scare you but a friendly advise you many want to re-think about this attorney who filed your 140/485 and don't know what type of damage she must have already done with your application and having good attorney will at least helpful if something goes wrong (for god's NOTHING wrong should happen to you or anyone in this whole GC process). this GC journey it self is a toucher!!

IO told me in infopass that she can't tell me about my name check and don't worry about it since 180 day rule applies ,....i guess she had good knowledge of the rule

I recommend talking to a lawyer. Remember, that you (and your partner) are certifying and signing all forms. So, if you are legally married, it would be perjury to leave the "spouse" field as blank.

This should provide some food for thought for any standalone bill for skilled, legal immigrant reform, if it comes to that.
With the contrbutions high skilled (EB) immigrants make to the country's innovation and competitveness, the much needed science and math skills they bring, and the high taxes they pay, it is clear such immigrants are a net gain to the economy.

Median family income, at $57,500, also is the highest, with half of Asian Indians earning $69,000 or more. Asians owned 1.1 million owned businesses in 2004, up 24% since 1997, the Census Bureau fact sheet said.
High tech executives have been lobbying heavily for an increase in the visa cap for high-skill workers, a majority of whom are Asians. All four versions of the immigration bill now before the Senate would double the number of so-called H1B temporary visas to 115,000 and also double the number of employment-based green cards to 290,000. Exemptions from those limits for students currently working on science and technology degrees in the U.S. � most of whom also are Asian � would increase high-skilled immigration still further if any of the bills becomes law.

My lawyer has told me that the 180 days is from the receipt date i.e. August 3rd in your case.

Hello Everyone;
I recently posted a thread on our buying house expereince, while that was chapter in itself, there is another one that has recently opened up. Allow me to elaborate;
When you buy a house ( as most know) lender sets up an arrangment with Title company. You actually pay for the expenses and title company carries out the work. So as part of the paper work, this title company was assigned to put together, they sent me a copy of the whole deal for my records. Now, the person who was handling the package at title company, sent it to the address on my driver license. Happens to be that right next day from the date of closing, I left this place an moved into my house. So when the package arrived via Fedex, their was no-one their to claim, so the Fedex guy left it on the door step. After more than a week, the title company contacted me via phone asking about why I haven't signed up those documents and sent back. Surprised I asked about when they sent and to what place? that's when we discovered that the package was delievered to wrong place. So I asked them to ask Fedex to go fetch the package and send it to my new address. So now Fedex reported, that the package is gone! ... I contacted apartment office and no-one turned in such package. I called back the title company and informed them about all this and complained about loss of personal information. I asked them to pay for identity protection program, which they have refused.
So my question is what legal course do I have to ensure they pay for my ID protection. I am really furstrated with the way these people do work. Instead of accepting negligence they are refuting my greivance. I have never hired a lawyer nor has taken anyone to court, but feel cheated.
