And where is Jetblue in all of this???
I wondered the same thing. JetBlue seems like an innovator, and if anyone is going to actually hit this launch date, it would be them.
i suspect the issue is their deal with directtv. just my guess.

Hhm, I still see this bug, that applying a custom design in Powerpoint does not change the font of the presentation to the font of the design-template.
Very annoying!

Oooh... looks like we have the faux small-government types coming in! If you're worried about wasting of money, keep in mind that your government spends way more money on propaganda launched at you and empire-building than it does on the federal trade commission.
There's nothing "Faux" about me bub. I don't want to spend money on wars, empire building, bailing out banks, paying for ever expanding social programs, propaganda campaigns, the FTC, The FCC, The ATF, the whatever commission we'll implement this week to take care of a make believe problem, OR trying to regulate my app purchases because one of my kids might rack up a bill. I'll take care of my kids, money, and app purchases without government intervention ,thank you. How's that for Faux?

It's so sad how the "OS Wars" has stooped to this level.
You mean this?
Mac users are...PRETENTIOUS!
All other snob crap...flamboyantly rich and or wannabe rich
clueless overbearing confidence based on ignorance.
Not only is the "genius bar" full of retards who help more retarded retards
Who gets this angry about computer platforms?

I wonder why I often see signs like this in stores ...
Seems to me that I have only seen those signs at places where excessive inebreation by customers could be a problem, ie: bars, some places downtown in the bar district, etc.
Anyways, if you don't want to sell something to somebody for WHATEVER reason, no matter how ridiculous, shouldn't that be your right?

The Liberals deserved it, they need a new leader and this is a big wake up call. The NDP deserved what they received as well. But thankfully we won't waste more of taxpayers money on elections until 2015!

Yeah, I get to have my wisdom teeth out next Thursday, so it's anesthesia for me too!
Although...this should be ok...because my step-grandfather founded the anesthesia department at Cincinnati Children's. So...the current head of department is personally putting me under. I'm expecting a great nights sleep after that...

I just got off the phone with sale rep, and all they have is 32gb and 64gb left. When asked about the price, she said $500 for 32gb (??). I mentioned the article and she still said $500. Weird? Is there an official link to this somewhere on the verizon site, as all I can see is it bundled with mifi @ 429.99 (16gb).
$299 is definitely a steal!
I haven't been able to find a SINGLE store that has the 16GB model. I've searched everywhere throughout the city and east bay. Anyways, all I've called have said the iPads are $299/$399/$499 with no contract.

The scalpers are buying up all the AT&T versions to sell overseas. The Verizon models are no use to them since they only work in the US. Mystery solved....

after all this hype if iOS 5 is just a small improvement that would be ludicrous.
When has Apple ever made anything more than "just a small improvement"?

..I'm guessing someone got fired at Apples today..
Haha... I don't think so. On the face of it this seems like Apple's marketing team have jumped the gun on this announcement - however I'm guessing Steve Jobs sanctioned this as a swift poke in the eye to Microsoft on Zune launch day.
It's showing the industry how creative Apple are being when it comes to their plans for iPod. They have a lot of cool stuff in store for us that Microsoft aint even thought of yet!!

I would say the app has some potential but needs a lot of work. No need to name all the issues since they are obviously already mentioned in the thread.
I encountered a lot of "WTF?"-style behavior quirks with Garmin myself. It does the job, but the deal-breaker for me is that the volume slider in settings sets both your device volume, and the speech volume. So you either deal with quiet music, or very loud instruction if you are using your phone to also play music.
It handles drop-outs of network fine, but requires you to be on the network to get a route planned, and you can't pre-plan a route. So if you are say, planning a camping trip, you will only get GPS direction one way if the camp site is out of cell service (like mine usually are).

Anyone who says there aren't any, doesn't know what they're talking about... especially in the large-truck division, American technology still rules supreme.

It is surely embarrassing for Apple that a 3rd party developer can write an app that will download and upload from the iDisk far faster than their own Finder.
If I'm going to iDisk, I use Transmit. Otherwise it's not worth it.
I'm in no hurry. Would rather not buy Transmit. iDisk is incredibly slow, but no skin off my back (I don't use it too much). Interesting to learn that it is the application, and not something inherently sluggish on the host end.

I grew up on a pc and now I choose Mac because it's so much better in my opinion. Personally I'm not liberal and I'm not super conservative either. I odiously care about my appearance, and I'm not a vegetarian. I do like the Beatles though wherever that fits in. So I'm not anywhere near this statistic. Windows Is more complicated, but it would be fine if it wasn't slow, get viruses all the time, and when u click an app it doesn't take ten min to pop up (not to mention u get so frustrated u click it several time and then like 7 windows pop up). Personally this never happens to my Mac iknow my way a round both os's but I also own most apple products. I take care of the pc sitting in the basement my dad uses it for email when he is not on the iPad, so it doesn't get that much use but it slows down fast so we clean it out every year ( back what we need up and then wipe the thing). The pc is cheeper that is why most of the world uses them, there is a thiving computer repair business for a reason (not many for Mac). But whatever floats your boat I guess lol
A computer's best feature is its application, but the operating system that runs the applications should not be neglected.
Windows is garbage.
Virtualizing Windows desktops will be like a bad sitcom - everybody is laughing except the ones who work on it.
Personally, I lean left-wing on some issues, right-wing on one or two issues. but prefer not being labeled as anything. For left-wing or right-wing, they're both part of a big turkey. I am an individual. I am a free man. Not a number. :D
My appearance could be better, but I'd rather get to work. Substance over style. Mac has a great look, but the OS is what counts the most.
PCs aren 't much cheaper once you add in support costs, not to mention adware, trialware, and other crapware that get preinstalled. And once info is added into the registry, it can (usually) be removed but the registry cannot be compacted. Bloat creeps in and reinstalling is inevitable, if performance is a concern. Even with Win7, which has bugs that SP1 hasn't fixed either...
OS X has a couple of foibles, but compared to Windows "it just works" is not an inaccurate statement and, quite frankly, is vastly superior to Windows.
