I am the owner of a Fuji S3 Pro and I bought Aperture 1 about a year ago ($499). And there was no support for Fujifilm Raw files. I returned the item to Apple.
I checked again today and the Fuji S3 Pro file format is now listed in the Camera Supported page Apple posted for Aperture 1.5 (http://www.apple.com/aperture/raw/cameras.html)
The web page says OPTIMIZED Support. see below

I don't think people realize that there are many technical limitations on what can/can't be submitted to the app store. There are some incredible apps, that by their very nature, really can't be submitted to the app store because of how they work and the kinds of things they do.
The Apple Design Awards have been the equivalent of the Academy Awards for Mac developers. This announcement radically reduces the significance of these awards. Hopefully new awards will be created that recognize the absolute best apps available on OSX, regardless of which distribution model(s) the use. Perhaps Macrumors will step up to the plate?

I think its the kid's responsibility here. The OP had every intention of paying for his purchase, but the cashier dropped the ball big time. When you take on a job, you assume the responsibilities that come with it. Making a mistake that big will have consequences. I would hate to have someone that makes mistakes like that working for me.

To be honest, the only things putting me off a future purchase of an ACD are connectors, possible incompatibility and cost. If they were a little more affordable for me, (as they are sure to be by the time I think of a purchase), I would get one of the 23" models. However, I would be planning on using it as a display for my PC which also doubled as a second display for my iMac and MBP. Therefore I would need ideally either one VGA and one DVI, two DVI and a VGA or a pair of DVIs. It just wouldn't be practical switching back and forth all the time for me.

You are correct. In fact the text in the 1st image looks a little skewed as well. Most likely these images are fake, however they are pretty close to how I envision the next iPhone to look like.

I understand where Giz is coming from about how they're not the protectors of companies, blah blah blah. That's right.. press don't protect companies, and they also don't harm them. "Disrupting" is in the category of harming a company.
So.. it's okay then to turn of people's computers everytime they look at Giz? I mean.. they can just turn them back on, right?
Giz is trying to make a statement, but what they fail to do is show some goddamn respect. How in hell are their writers supposed to get into any more events if they make it public that they have no respect at all for these companies?

Android kind of loses it charm.
Because no root/jailbreak is needed in order to do tethering, even if carriers disable those downloads from the Market. Because you can still download and install apps from anywhere on the internet.
But anyways, I don't think anyone would choose an OS just for one reason alone. Some might, of course.

That means anybody (read: carriers) can go and take a high class mobile OS for free and do with it what it wants; for better (lots of choices in software and hardware, big ecosystem) and for worse (slow updates, android modifications that suck, mobile phones that suck).
The fact that people could take android and make it even more restrictive than iOS is why it is open.
So yeah. Today android users can sideload any app without rooting/jailbreaking. Tomorrow, all carriers might start shipping phones with that feature disabled.
Thankfully, that has not happened for 99.99% of phones. But it might, because you know, as Android is open, people can modify it for both innovative improvements and new features and for locking it down.
Double edged sword :) It's not better and it's not worse, and its better and its worse. it depends on what you like/want. There is choice (and therefore competiton) between excellent mobile OSs, and that's great!

I swore more when I found out that my Verizon phone with bluetooth would have more features on someone elses cell phone network and that the 'brain drain' at Verizon ordered certain features removed from the phone on their network! Yeah, Verizon has ZERO room to talk. They coulda had the iPhone... Hah!

I'm a Nazi zomb expert (and I do mean expert) and let me say that they made it hard this time around. It seems to be made specifically for the cult players. If you couldn't get past lvl 15 in the last levels, you aren't grtting past 4-5 here.
I'm similar... the key to doing well this time around is to communicate with the other players. :p
The classic zombie maps from WaW are a vast improvement this time around, the graphics are much better.

Getting back to the actual advertisement. What self-respecting advertising professional would use someone else's tagline like that.
I had a few friends watching the football game (where we saw the ad) and half of them thought it was an iphone commercial because they were only half paying attention and heard "there's a map for that".
Pretty shoddy work in my opinion.
I disagree. It is a satirical and pokes fun of AT&T and Apple while giving facts. It gets you to think, which is the goal of an advertisement.
I like this commercial and hope it makes AT&T a little more scared that they are failing. (Or I could be bias for my love of satires and dislike for AT&T :cool:)
I think first Verizon has to back a truck full of money up to Apple's campus, then Apple has to build a CDMA iPhone :D

My sources.. well, my main sources is the Apple documentation (all of it), then theres books and all the same stuff than most developers learn from. And.. no I haven't read all of the books, nor watch every video but I will.

Being specific is a huge part of learning how to program, because computers only do what you tell them to do. (As you should have learned just by living through this thread).
It's not essential to read every page of every book, but certain books are good at explaining particular concepts. Others, less so.
Telling us specifically which resources got you in this mess, can help us point you at the relevant portions of the resources you already have at your disposal. It also can help us the next newbie who doesn't know a method from an object instance, by pointing them to different resources to avoid your mistakes.
For example, if we know you have access to Kochan's book we could be more specific and say: "Go back and re-read Chapter 3 on "Classes, Objects and Methods"" instead of a more generic "step back and learn the fundamentals".
No, self refers to the instance of the object that is executing the currently running code.
Which Nekbeth might actually know if they took the time to learn something about objects, for example from said Chapter 3 in Kochan. For me, it remains the best description of objects I have read.

I went back and forth with the idea of "needing" 3G but I have an iPhone, hardly ever travel, everywhere I go has WIFI and I have a MacBook and an iMac. I figure with the money I save, I can use on accessories...or just save :-).
Plus, my friend works at Best Buy and gives me half off accessories.
Any recommendations on apps that are must haves?
