Not in an awful rush. If you're waiting for an iPhone 3G then that's fine however I might succumb to the temptation to get one myself.

I saw this video a while ago, but I'm first commenting on it now.
The only thing that I didn't like about it is that woman. Who is that woman and why is she there interviewing Steve Jobs? I'm not feeling her at all.

Based on personal experience, it's reliable (as in, I've never lost a file). I've even reformatted my Mac and restored it perfectly with a Time Machine backup. It's really only a pain when you make changes to a file quite often (in that you have to search through several different versions to find the one you want).
As you've said, you've got an offsite backup. Which means you've essentially got three copies of your system around (the mac, the time machine backup, the offsite backup). That's about as safe a system as you can ask for.

The hyper-threading that the i7 has isn't going to do you any good unless you do calculations, processing (photos and the like) or 3d rendering and not just small bits here and there, but lots of it - big batches of the stuff.
So, what are you doing with your iMac and what do you think you'll do with it in the next few years?

They're replacing the whole A-Trim on both sides and will come out to fit it at the weekend.
Which is slightly better than being slapped in the face with a wet fish but not much if you need the car (tomorrow). Can you harass them for a courtesy car?

Yeah thats a good point. You are preaching to the choir, I really miss the feature (hence asking Loren about it). I don't imagine it will be too much longer before the 'Services' option in the iPhone version goes as well.
some of those 'services' are pretty pointless. I don't think 2 of them even work.

Why should the Bioshock moniker be connected to Andrew Ryan or Rapture? It is more connected to the plasmids.

Edit: I stumbled onto this, but it says the panel type is TN, not IPS, does this mean it will have horrible viewing angles?
LG Monitor (http://www.lg.com/uk/it-products/monitors/LG-led-monitor-W2486L.jsp)
Yes. Horrible viewing angles and overall terrible image quality in comparison to IPS or VA panels.
There are no LED backlit IPS panels other than the Apple Cinema. If you really want an LED (why exactly?) you have no other option.

The iMac will be better in the long run. You get an incredibly nice screen, a nice keyboard, a mouse that should be thrown in the trash as soon as you receive your package, and much better hardware than you would from the Mac Mini.
I don't hate the Magic Mouse... I don't love it either... but it's not too bad for just basic stuff... it's **** for gaming though... then again... I use a Trackman on my iMac... :P

Sorry for the slow reply, was doing a bit of spider removal.
Viewing angles on most IPS panels should be around 178 degrees. One thing to consider is, are you going to be looking at it from an unusual angle? Most people I know look at monitors from the front! :D
Only direction you'll notice real degradation in picture quality on an IPS is vertically and that won't be an issue, unless you're freakishly tall and you like your monitor at your ankles.
I used to worry a lot about similar things but once I'd researched it realised that there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of difference until you start spending lots and lots of money, and at that point it'll be past the stage of diminishing returns for average computer users.
I was wondering about viewing angles, because at night I sometimes flip the screen around to face the bed, and watch a movie. Because the desk is about a foot higher than the bed, and it doesnt tilt down much, the colours look a bit 'off'.
And when it gets to a dark scene, I really notice the backlight.

None of my friends want an Xbox, they all sold theirs, just don't play games anymore or never liked the xbox library. Mine will be going next to my Amiga, NES, classic GB series and Mega Drive in an air tight box for future play. I loved playing with my dads toys when I was a kid so it's probably only right that I do the same for my future kids!
Well lets see, you can play Amiga, NES and all GB and GBA games, plus alot more, on a modded XBOX...so dont relegate it to the dark, dank closet just yet?
